Birthplace of Brazilian zouk. Renata Peçanha's Núcleo + the Rio Zouk Congress (since 2008) are the global zouk anchor. Salsa/bachata circuit in Copacabana (Substation, New Mariuzinn) and Lapa (Leviano).
Island city in southern Brazil. Hosts Baila Costão each July at the Costão do Santinho beach resort — a week-long ballroom + Latin retreat.
Brazil's planned capital. The Asa Norte bar Godofredo runs Happy Hour Latinidade every Thursday — salsa, bachata, kizomba and forró in equal rotation.
Rio Grande do Norte's capital. Salsa Astral has anchored the Ponta Negra beachfront boardwalk since 2011 — Sunday-evening Latin-rhythm class and social right on the calçadão, in front of Astral Sucos.
Recife's Casa da Cultura and the salsa community at Marco Zero anchor a Northeast Brazilian Latin scene — forró, salsa, and bachata mix with strong Pernambuco rhythm.
Londrina, in Paraná, hosts Zouk Unity Congress each July — 12 hours of principal zouk plus 6 hours of lambada workshops, parties and competitions over a long weekend. The festival plugs Londrina into Brazil's nationwide zouk competition circuit.
Paraná's capital and the south's mid-sized salsa anchor. Foxy Bar on Rua Lamenha Lins is the city's weekly Latin engine, splitting hosting duties between SoulLatino (Friday Sexta Latina, Saturday Sabadão Latino) and Bailatino (Cuban-music night).
Bahia's Afro-Brazilian capital. Casa da Felicidade in Rio Vermelho is the city's weekly Latin anchor — every Sunday from 5pm with salsa, bachata and forró.
Juiz de Fora hosts Zouk in Foco at the Ritz Plaza Hotel in Centro — a Minas Gerais multicultural zouk + lambada congress with workshops, socials and competitions across a long weekend. The city sits inside the dense Brazilian zouk circuit between Rio and Belo Horizonte.
Amazonas capital, deep in the Amazon. La Casa de la Bachata in Parque 10 opened in March 2026 — bachata-first room with live bands, Adrian Bachata residencies, and a Latin music rotation.
Rio's bay-cross neighbor city. Espaço Gafieira on Av. Roberto Silveira hosts a once-monthly all-rhythms social (first Saturday) that draws students from every ballroom school in Niterói.
Gaúcho capital. Sabor Latino Danças runs the city's most consistent weekly programming — Mon/Wed/Sat practice-class hybrids — and the Lebanese Society in Boa Vista hosts the annual Bachata y Salsa con Sabor weekend each April.
Southern Bahia beach hub on the Costa do Descobrimento. Hosts Lambatour Immersion every October — a five-day lambada-zouk retreat that draws the Brazilian zouk circuit south from Rio.
Minas Gerais state capital. Bar Paco Pigalle (open since 1990) hosts Sextitta Latina every Friday — salsa, bachata, merengue until 5am.
Bahia's second-largest city, in the interior northwest of Salvador. Home of Embrazouk — the state's main Brazilian-zouk festival, running annually at the end of April / start of May.
Paraíba's second city, in the northeastern interior. Hosts Zoukampina Congress every March — the only major zouk festival in the northeastern interior, run by Paulo Roberto and Sílvia Soares.
São Paulo state's industrial-tech secondary city. Anchored on the festival map by Splendor Zouk every February — São José is the regional zouk hub for the Vale do Paraíba.
