Sydney's Latin scene runs out of Stanmore and Darling Harbour. Mambo G's Monday Salsa is one of the longest-running weekly Latin nights in Australia.
Australia's bachata capital — runs both the World Bachata Festival in June and the Bachata Flavour Festival in August, both in inner-east town halls.
Queensland's capital. Salsa Sundays at Pig 'N' Whistle in Fortitude Valley is the weekly anchor — beginner lesson at 6:30pm, social until midnight.
Hosts the Adelaide Sensual Weekend every late July — a five-day Afro-Latin festival mixing sensual bachata, kizomba, and Cuban salsa.
Western Australia's capital. Danza Loca runs Perth's mainstay Tuesday party — Havana Jam at the Mustang Bar in Northbridge, free entry once classes wrap.
Victoria's second city on Corio Bay. David Smile runs the Thursday Latin night at GSODA Hall (VRI Hall, Geelong Station) with a free bachata intro at 6pm rolling into a Latin mini-social, with a parallel Wednesday class block at Christ Church Hall.
NSW's second city on Hunter River mouth. The Crown & Anchor Hotel on Hunter St runs Newcastle's anchor Tuesday social since the mid-2010s; Dance On Newy and Ruedisima Latin Dance Co. produce the city's twice-yearly Latin parties.
Coastal city on NSW's mid-north coast. Hosts LatinFest each January at Panthers Port Macquarie — a three-day beachside salsa / bachata / kizomba / zouk festival that debuted in 2026 and is already the largest Latin event between Sydney and Brisbane.
Australia's purpose-built capital. Latin Tuesdays at Highball Bar on London Circuit anchors the weekly scene; JST Dance and Bailamor run the term-based class circuit, and monthly SOS — Salsa on Saturday at the Australian Croatian Club extends the calendar.
Coastal city south of Brisbane. Hosts the Brisbane Latin Dance Festival each December — incorporating the World Salsa Solo competition.
Tasmania's capital on the Derwent River. Casa Cubana has run the city's Cuban-salsa Thursday night at the Italian Club in North Hobart for 30+ years; the Tasmanian University Social Dance Society adds Tuesday-night salsa, bachata, zouk, and kizomba at Mathers House.
North Queensland coastal city — gateway to Magnetic Island, host of the annual Afrekete tropical Afro dance festival each May.
